Memorial Day at the Country Club

We were able to hob-nob with the cool people at Grandpa Leroy's country club. The food was good and there were lots of choices. Salmon, ribs, chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, various salads--basically all the stuff you could ask for on a Memorial Day Bar B Q but with none of the mess.

Here are some pics:

That looks like a nice place...I don't expect I will ever be a part of a country club but having a father-in-law in one would be cool, I guess. Looks like it pays off. Go Leroy.

I wouldn't worry about it. Country clubs are best if you enjoy golf. There is definitely a big social aspect to it, but it you aren't a golfer, the country club is not a big deal.

If socializing is the thing then there are other organizations around that are as effective.

Still, the course is very nice and it is fun for us. They have a couple of professional tournaments there each year. This afternoon Ryan gets to go to a kid's day at the club. He gets to have a group golf lesson with other kids. He has been looking forward to it.

Leroy definitely enjoys the club, I think belonging to a country club was one of his life long dreams.
