Everyone went to Black Butte Ranch for the weekend. I am here by myself. Bored.
I went with Dave to see The Dark Knight movie at 10:30 PM last night. It was supposed to have been an IMAX screen, but it really didn't seem too much bigger than a regular movie screen. The picture and sound were excellent though. It was a great movie. I got back home at 1:30 in the morning. This was after getting up at 5:30 AM to get going to the triathlon I did yesterday. I couldn't fall asleep until nearly 3AM though for some reason. I will soon post a report about the tri on my other blog, RCMT. I will say that it went very well for the most part. It was my last triathlon until next April Half Ironman distance triathlon in Oceanside California. Frankly, I am not very excited about doing that one. Luckily it is so far away that I don't really have to think much about it yet. The triathlon that I did yesterday was only a sprint, which is 1/4 the length of a Half Ironman. Basically it was fun distance despite the hilly course. The longer ones hurt...a lot...
I was up at 8AM this morning because Ryan's primary teacher called to see if he was coming to church today. Why she had to call at 8AM, or even call at all is a bit odd. I mean she could have called in the days prior or a bit later when people are awake after staying up all night....
What does one do when you are all alone for the weekend after being used to always have people around? I dunno. Maybe I will try and get myself invited over somewhere for dinner. There is some meat in the freezer, I may just pop it on the grill.
Maybe after church I will take a nap....yeah a busy couple of days are ahead of me. I better pace myself.

Grooming can be manly
Today was my last day of watching Mckenna (the easiest 18 month old ever). She brought a stuffed polar bear for the new baby. Well of course that was confiscated by Ryan but he is aware that it is for his new brother that has yet to arrive. So the next thing I know is Ryan has the bear and Jack has a dinosaur and the are both brushing the stuffed animals with my hair brushes and I start to think my boys are more girly than I thought. But wait, the reason for the grooming was so they could get the fur all messed up in a violent bear/dinosaur battle. So never fear they are still very much boys.

Kids have it all figured out
Last night the boys were all wound up and couldn't calm down. Even during dinner they couldn't sit still and then afterwards they were doing things they knew they were not suppose to. So I told them I was not happy with them and it was time for a bath. They went into the bathroom and as they were undressing I hear Jack ask Ryan why is mommy soo grumpy and Ryan answers that she didn't get enough sleep last night.

Big Truck Day
Last Saturday we went to Big Truck Day with Cassie and Sabrina. Big Truck Day is free and thus it is packed. So many trucks and other things to see that we just couldn't see it all before the heat got to the boys. And besides we had to get going on our trip to Black Butte Ranch. It is late so there is a lack of words here to accompany the pics. More on Black Butte Ranch later (we forgot our camera so no BBR pics, sorry).

Ward Picnic and Bike Parade
This was from last Saturday night. We had a blast. The boys got to decorate their bikes and then bring them along for a bike parade that went along the athletic track at the elementary school were it was held. I was able to switch shifts with someone so I was able to be there as well. I rode there from work, but I didn't ride in the parade. I was still eating since I got there late. We were able to socialize with old friends and meet some new people as well.

On the upside...
I did find a place downtown that has really good carnitas burritos. It is one of those camper trailer eateries that exist in a couple of locations downtown. Basically there is a parking lot where about 15 of these trailers are sitting side by side. About 6 of them were serving mexican food. So I just picked the busy one and went for it. I got a huge burrito for $4.50. It was a bargin for how big it was. I was sweating and not because it was hot outside....yum. I don't even remember the name of the place.
Interview Today
I have an interview to be a clerk at a family law firm. It is enough for us to live on should I get the job. But not enough for us when some of my loan payments start in January. However, without this job or something like it we will deplete the money we have in saving by Christmas because Bridget will not be working at all after the next couple of weeks. Of course, should I get the job it could turn into an associate position and then we would be fine financially. I don't know about the area of law, but whatever. I am eager just to do any field just as long as it uses more of my brain that is being used currently.
Oh and the job at the employment and labor law firm is still undecided. I interviewed there about 9 weeks ago. Don't ask what I think about that process.
UPDATE: The people were very nice, but I have no interest in this job. It is not really a law clerk position. It is an office assistant job. Making copies. Making coffee. Cleaning up crap. Running miscellaneous errands for real attorneys. Between this, the employment law firm that can't seem to figure out if they want to hire me or not after 9 weeks, and no other options in the immediate horizon I am about ready to give the world the middle finger.
And please no comments about things will get better or that you feel bad for us or whatever. I am sick of that stuff too. Sick of others feeling like necessary to try and cheer us up about this situation. I mean I want to feel better about this whole deal, but I just don't want any sympathy right now. I just want a decent job. I now have to compete with a whole new round of graduates because it has taken so long. Awesome, freaking awesome.

At the Party...
Jack and Ryan were taught be Sabrina how to model cloths on a runway. Jack didn't quite get it. Ryan sort of got it but then had to put a twist on things. I don't know where he came from...
First Jack
Then Ryan had to change and do his version.
Our boys are goofballs.
I will try and post more pics later.

We Need a Name
Please go to the other blog to vote on a name for the boy in Bridgie's belly. I put up a poll there with some of the names that she and I like--although didn't necessarily agree on. Originally, I was going to post it here, but the RCMT blog get around 4 times more daily visits and by an even greater number of over a week span. This blog seems to just get the same ol' friends and family, which is great, but I wanted more opinions for this poll.
So CLICK HERE to go and vote!
Thanks!

Clyde, Clyde, Clyde....
He did it again. Last night it was after midnight and Clyde was at the sliding glass door at the back of the house. He wanted in. The room was fairly dark and I opened the door as I was thinking about other things, such as whether one particular noise was one of the boys waking up. I wasn't even looking at Clyde as he came in.
I went to the bathroom and was about to go to bed. About 10 minutes had passed since I let Clyde in. I wanted a drink water so I came back to the kitchen area which is near the sliding glass door. On the floor was a dead, bloody bird. Feathers were scattered in about a 6 foot radius. There were drips of blood scattered around too. Apparently the bird was not quite dead when Clyde brought it in. And he had been enjoying himself. I obviously wasn't paying attention to him or to what was in his mouth when I opened the door. Soooo, it looked like a fine mess to clean up. Clyde was laying about 10 feet away from the dead bird looking smug.
Clyde watched me as I picked up the dead bird in some paper towels and chucked it back outside. I swept up the feathers and then sanitized the area while trying to get the drops of blood off of the hard wood floor. That was actually the toughest part. Those little drops had dried and didn't want to come up. Clyde watched the whole time and when I was done he meowed as he walked up to me and then purred. He wanted to be rewarded with some attention. As much as I disliked cleaning up, how can you be mad when an animal does what it is meant to do and did it well? So yes, I pet him and told him he was a good kitty--and promptly tossed him back outside so he could clean himself up a little bit more.
