Honesty Combined with No Filter

This morning Jack and I were on the way to his preschool and were were talking about this and that. Some of it revolved around what he thought they might be doing for their morning project. Some of it was an imaginary scenario where he talked about punching the offending bad person in the neck. I didn't get that one. I told him it wasn't good to punch and he said he knew that, but we only punch bad guys in the neck. I let it go.

Silence for about a minute. I turned up the radio to listen to an interview with the USC quarterback.

Then Jack says, "Joe's mom is stinky." Huh? I turned down the radio.

Joe (not his real name) is a friend that he has made at preschool. He likes Joe and has talked about him before. I asked him if he meant that she wears perfume--I didn't want to assume the worst. He said no. "She is stinky Daddy." Does she smell like food? "No." Did she let a stinker or something? "No. She is stinky and she needs to take a shower."

I tried to control my laughter. I don't know Joe's mom or even what she looks like. I don't know if this was a one time stinkiness or if it is a common thing. And I am still confused about who is who at the preschool. But know I gotta find out and see if she is as stinky as Jack says. Jack wouldn't make that up and for him to think about this it would have to have been pretty bad I would think.

Anyway, I told him not to talk about it at school. Maybe her shower was broken or they were out of soap or maybe she had just been running. After all I am stinky lots of times too I told him. Anyway, I thought it was funny.
