We had Patrick here for Thanksgiving. He flew out and it was a great week for us. The boys absolutely love him. I think he has nearly superhero status with them. When he left Jack was so sad. He still asks if he is going to come back after he unpacks after flying back to Michigan. We tell him it will probably be a long time until they see him again. Ryan misses him too, but he understood that Patrick has to work.
He played Legos with them (Ryan's favorite thing to do with him), rough-housed with them, played outside with them, and who knows what else. It was like he was on duty all of the time for their benefit while he was here. They just could not get enough of him. All I could do was try and give him a break now and then by getting out of the house for a bit. We hit Five Guys a couple of times and also had a bit of cheap Mexican food. I don't think it was a particularly restful vacation for him. He would go to bed late, as per usual Patrick style, and the boys when they woke up would immediately want to go downstairs and pounce on him to wake him up (this was Jack's favorite thing to do while he was here he said).
He really is a great brother and uncle. But seriously, he needs a woman. A good woman.
Thanks a bunch brother. Seriously. I am so grateful for the way you treat our boys. It shows the sort of person you are.

I've always been impressed with Patrick and your sisters for their unseemingly abundance of energy for kids even not their own. It makes a woman's heart melt to see Patrick playing with the kids. Like a concerned old grandmother, "Why can't you find a good woman, Partick? What is wrong with women today?"
I think the problem now is one of selection. Michigan is not great for LDS singles. I think there are 10 single females within a 100 mile radius.
He doesn't know how long he will be there. If things get bad he suspects that he could be let go/bought out despite his 3 year contract with the company he is with.
If anyone knows of any leads he is willing to be set up. Seriously, someone, set him up with at least a penpal or something.
Ha. This sounds like an add in the paper Devin. It makes Pat look really good. Maybe you should publish something like this in your ward bulletin or elsewhere. lol. He is a good bro & so are you!
i love that first picture of your family! you all look so great!
That is one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me. Thanks Devin. As for a woman... I don't believe there is anyone here for me.
Hum... a thought just came to me. You know how Brad and Angelina go to other countries and drive through a take-out window and pick up babies. I wonder if a similar thing exists to find a woman? Hum... I may have to look into this.
