Ryan talked about some of the things that were going on, about the rules and so forth. He had been taking golf lessons once a week for 5 or 6 weeks this summer. Jack wasn't totally captivated, but watched with interest. Then Grandpa arrived with something...new Taylor Made golf bag and clubs for Jack! Very timely! Jack's golf set came with a hat and a towel. Ryan's Nike golf club set, which isn't more than a couple of months old, didn't. Jack told Ryan that it was too bad he wasn't as lucky as he was...nothing like getting something cool and then rubbing your older brother's nose in it. Ryan of course now wants a hat and a towel, too (sigh).
Up in Black Butte they had all gone to the range to hit balls even Jack. And as a result of Jack's recent interest in golf, Grandpa decided to buy this set as a belated birthday gift. Jack had some of Ryan's old clubs that were meant for 2-3 year olds. They were just too short really. He is so excited about this golf set. They immediately went into the backyard and started whacking away at the plastic golf wiffle balls. Tomorrow Bridget, the boys, Granpa and Grandma are all going to the range together to hit balls.
