Ryan is in high school. Big freshman. Or maybe not so big...see the pictures below from last night's soccer game. he was certainly one of the smallest out there on either team. I doubt anyone is going to top him on lowest BMI.
Beaverton has 4 soccer teams. Varsity, JV, and two JV2 teams. He with most of the freshmen are on the lower of the JV2 teams. Bridget believes that all Freshmen and Sophomores were segregated on to the 2 JV2 teams and that upperclassmen comprise the JV and Varsity. Only 5 freshmen made it on to the upper JV2 team even. Last night his team of mostly freshmen when up against a team of mostly Sophomores. Our boys didn't have anyone with the mass of their biggest 4 players. And Beaverton was shelled. It was ugly. Afterwards Ryan was really angry, about as angry as I have seen him. He finally opened up that he expected his team to at least try. Only he didn't really say it, he yelled it when we were in the car. Our boy is very competitive. The team has 18 players. Ryan starts. He is never subbed. There are about 3 or 4 players that do not come out and he is one. We will see how he deals with this challenge. When they played a game last friday it was against a team of mostly Freshmen and they tied. So they are not horrible. They are just young and likely half of the players do not have as much experience as Ryan with strategy and so forth. 11 games to go. Below is a picture from the first game last week against Liberty HS.
