We are on our newest version of the nano. Bridget and I have a couple other Nanos, but they are older and don't do what this newest one does--Play videos!
I picked up because in a few weeks Bridget and the boys are off the Virginia to see her sister and her new baby. That plane ride is not going to be a joy, nor will be the commute time from the airport to their house. So this one is the 8 gig version and it can hold a couple of seasons of Scooby Doo, about 20 Bugs Bunny cartoons, and maybe a few episodes of the new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Probably about 8 to 10 hours of video.
Pretty cool stuff. The clarity is amazing considering that the screen is about 2 or 2.5 inches big. It really isn't too bad to watch at all. The boys really like watching it.
Anyway, I think it will work out great for their trip. And as an added bonus I can now watch shows while running on the treadmill.

Perhaps I could buy one of your old ones for a discounted price...just a thought
I might have one of the first Ipod Mini's. If so I will send it to you if you send me you address. You will need headphones and an Ipod USB connector though. The USB connector is like 10 bucks. THe battery lasts only about 4 hours on this one, but that was all it ever lasted. They have gotten much better since then.
I do have it. It recharges via the USB connector, so if you can pick up one of those you can have it.
