Called the Firm

The guy was obviously a little busy and as a result didn't have much time to talk to me. He just said he would get back to me soon. Which to me means, I will get back to you as soon as I can get my secretary to send off a "Thanks, but no thanks" letter.

I got nothin'

Pressure is building. Baby on the way and I got nothin'.

I am feeling a little under the weather and the prospect of going to the shop today is more than I can handle right now. If I have someone ask me to change a flat I might lose it frankly.

Maybe I am being overly negative. But I don't really care, I am sick of the shop, sick of not having a decent job and I am generally fed up.

I went to check the job board and there isn't anything there. I am out of ideas on people to bug. Basically, I feel like I am at a deadend here.

Anyway, this is how I feel right now. I may remove this post later when I come to my senses.

I feel for ya bro, you're definitely in a very hard spot. In fact, I've been been amazed at how well you've taken everything thus far. I would have broken down a long time ago. You're much more of a man then I am.

I've been praying for you. I'll keep it up. Maybe we should all fast.

This was obviously not the right job! Something will come. Don't give up. But perhaps a little divine intervention is called for! A family fast on Sunday sounds like a good idea. Heavenly Father knows you, Devin. He knows your needs. Something will work out.

This is what I'm thinking... the firm seems pretty busy and maybe the important people just haven't had the time to give attention to hiring. So... maybe with some gentle pushing and pestering you can make it so that they don't have to think about it much. I'm a fan of pushing you're way in. It at least sends a strong signal that you know what you want and you'll work hard for them (help lighten their load).

I call every two weeks. That is what a couple of books I have read advise. I sent my thank you letter immediately after the interview. I am all set on the pestering side of things.

No "thanks, but no thanks" letter yet, which is a good thing obviously. Bridget thinks I am still in the game. I think that they are waiting to hear back on another possibility before they tell me yea or nea.

Okay, I'm all for a family fast. Tell everyone, so we all know. I am with Mom and Stephanie. Amen to what they said. I really truly believe that it's in times like this, when we realize our total dependence on God that we come closer to Him and recognize the miracles in our lives and see that from small means - what is it? - great things happen. Though, I'm sure you've already thought about this...

I liked hearing the story about Pres. Hinckley from Pres. Monson during his funeral about how he'd listen carefully to seemingly insurmountable problems and say, "Things will work out." It will for you too.

we love you and your family and keep you in our prayers.

We appreciate it! Bridget wanted to make sure that I said so too. Thanks!
