Day 3 Disney Animal Kingdom

This park does not demand a full day to experience they things we wanted to experience...very thankful for that. We have not had much sleep starting from our red eye flight. Last night for some reason we had Amazon Fresh deliver between 10pm and 12am. We weren’t sure we’d be back at the park in time to hit the 8-10pm window. Bad decision. I had to go meet the delivery person in the golf cart at 11:15pm. I couldn’t go to sleep until after mid night. The we were up at 6:15.

Remember that is 3:15 in Oregon. Our bodies are mostly used to the time change, but still, not enough sleep for any of us. We were all cranky at different times today.

We rode went to the Pandora world area from the Avatar movie. We rode the flight simulator ride... it was amazing. Seriously incredible.

We also did the boat ride in that area, and it was meh. Think Pirates of the Caribbean, but without the history, charm, or humor. I mean it was well done for what it was, but it did nothing for any of us.

The safari was amazing! So many animals and most of the pictures I will post are from that ride. Loved it! We also toured most of the other attractions in the Africa section. They were somewhat interesting.

We at lunch at a bbq place called Flame Tree Barbecue. The ribs were amazing. The chicken was nearly as good. The four of us that were teenaged or older all loved it. The others, need to develop some better taste. Colin would only eat fries and with the lack of sleep he had a break down. Maddie hated the flavor of the dry rub on her chicken. We eventually made it work though.

After lunch we hit Dinosaur land and it was ok. There is a roller coaster there that was ok, but not stellar. The best coaster is in Asia, the Everest ride. It was like the Matterhorn ride in Disneyland on steroids. At one point we were going backwards and the Gs were more than I expected. Colin did well though. I think he was quite proud of himself for making it through. He even had his hands in the air for a few portions of it. Only a couple of “oh no” phrases were uttered.

Tonight we went to Disney Springs. I picked up a sweatshirt and hat and we also hit the M&M store. That place was fun. I want sure you could make a candy fun like that, but I think they did a reasonable job of it. We picked up lots of flavors and colors.

Well, I need some sleep. Time to get the pics posted and the off to sleep.

Above is a picture from the Avatar boat ride that was so so.

These two pictures are from within on the rides in the Dinosaur land. This ride was sort of like the Indiana Jones ride in Disneyland, just not as good as that one.

M@M store was quite large. The had a wall of different colors and flavors of the candy that was about 75 feet wide. It was crazy. And quite tasty. We ended up with about 3 pounds of M&Ms.
